The Cosplay Team: RGBfoxie and RGBWolfie

Q: Who is on the team?

These two cosplayers, RGBfoxie and RGBWolfie, have been making full costumes since 2016, and assisting anime and comic conventions with the cosplay side of their programming since 2018. RGBfoxie is a jack-of-all trades and has experience in sewing, foam, pattern making, 3D printing, 3D modeling, and LED programming. RGBWolfie is an expert foamsmith that is now dabbling more in the other cosplay arts.

Q: What do we do with cosplay professionally?

We’ve assisted anime and comic conventions with their cosplay programming. This includes judging nearly 20 craftsmanship contests, presenting a diverse array of panels, and giving advice to cosplayers that seek to make their own cosplays.

2024 - Present: RGBfoxie is also currently working with Omniheroes to create character costumes to showcase in their official game Discord.

Q: What work we are open to?

We are open to using our costume building skills to help companies bring their characters to life, with ourselves as the models for the costumes. Check out our Costuming Resume page, and head to the Contact Us page to start the process! Spaces are limited, so don’t hesitate to contact us. Pricing is based off of how complex the character is, as more complex characters take longer.

Appearance fee for conventions, which includes judging and paneling, includes both of us. If you would only like to hire and highlight one of us, that is fine. But the other will accompany as an assistant to the chosen cosplayer. We only ask for space in the hotel room and a pass to the event for the assistant cosplayer that isn't featured, though a food stipend for them would be welcome.

Q: Do we do commissions?

A: We do not do commissions. We are only open to making costumes for companies, but require payment and at least one month prep time for the costumes. And the jobb must include making the costume, exhibiting it as the model, and retaining the costume after use. There is a higher fee if a company requests to keep the costume and/or prop(s).

Renting our time with already created costumes, such as our Warcraft costumes, is also an option.

Q: Will you be offering tutorials? Your old posts mention some, but I can’t seem to find your patterns shop.

A: We used to offer downloadable tutorials, with files on here for free on our website shop. And some on Etsy. Unfortunately, the cost-to-benefit ratio wasn’t worth it. It can take up to 10x as long to build a cosplay depending on how detailed the documentation and tutorials are. Working day jobs means we can’t dedicate that extra time to document every detail in professional lighting with well-detailed instructions.

You can check our Etsy Store for paid patterns. And dig around our portfolios for the very rare remaining downloadable templates, with usually no instructions. They’re made to save experienced makers some time. We also now post build photos in our portfolio that may help with figuring out how to bring a character to real life.
